Why this club
Ipswich Town, founded in 1878, were built into a European force by Alf Ramsey and then Bobby Robson — a league title in 1962, the UEFA Cup in 1981. Portman Road is still a proper county-town ground in Suffolk. After a long sleep they stormed back through the leagues and, following a brief Premier League return and relegation, are up again.
