Why this club

Liverpool were formed in 1892 after a split with Everton and grew into England's most successful European club, with Anfield and the Kop as their chapel. Bill Shankly, Bob Paisley, and later Jürgen Klopp turned a civic institution into a global one without quite losing the civic part. The anthem, the red shirt, and the sense of occasion are unmatched. A natural pick if you want history, nights in Europe, and a club that still feels like a city.
